7/8/2005 - Hoover’s Maneuver
"Hoover's Maneuver" is a print by Sam Lyons that captures living aviation legend Bob Hoover during one of his most crowd-pleasing moments. And all prints are CO-SIGNED BY BOB HOOVER! Bob is taking his famous Shrike Commander through a hold-your-breath Airshow routine. He's doing a Cuban-8 with one engine shut down and the prop feathered. In his typically modest way, Bob said, "The Cuban-8 is no big deal; it's easy." Maybe it's easy if you're Bob Hoover, who performed his first Cuban-8 at the tender age of 18. He waited until he was a seasoned 20-year-old before shutting off one engine while doing his routine. Now Bob is 82 years young!
